Ο Βασίλης Κορακάκης είναι ακαδημαϊκός και ερευνητής με μεγάλη εμπειρία στη μυοσκελετική και αθλητική φυσικοθεραπεία και πάνω από 25 χρόνια κλινικής εμπειρίας. Κατέχει ακαδημαϊκές και ερευνητικές θέσεις στο University of Nicosia στην Κύπρο και στο Hamad bin Khalifa University στο Κατάρ. Διατέλεσε λέκτορας στο King’s College London στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και εργάστηκε στο Κατάρ, ως διευθυντής (clinical leader) τμήματος και ως υπεύθυνος ερευνητικών πρωτοκόλλων του τμήματος μυοσκελετικής και αθλητικής αποκατάστασης. Είναι επίσης, καθηγητής και κλινικός εκπαιδευτής μυοσκελετικής φυσικοθεραπείας στο πιστοποιημένο πρόγραμμα εκπαίδευσης Manual Therapy του Hellenic OMT eDu και διδάσκει μεταπτυχιακά σεμιναρία φυσικοθεραπευτικής εξειδίκευσης στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό. Eχει πάνω από 70 πρωτότυπες δημοσιεύσεις (Research record in Google Scholar) και 2 συμμετοχές στη συγγραφή βιβλίων σχετικά με την αθλητική αποκατάσταση. Βρίσκεται συχνά προσκεκλημένος ομιλητής σε διεθνή συνέδρια και αξιολογητής εργασιών για διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά.
